Acqua di Sardegna

Acqua di Sardegna is an autochthonous brand of perfumes, born in Sardinia and inspired by the liveliness and vigor of its geography, culture, fauna, and flora.

The owner Mauro Aprea contemplated precisely these characteristics when ideating on a new line of perfumes. The sense of abundance permeates the unique perfumes and fragrances which speak of the crystalline sea waters, the sun’s rays, and the summer evenings typical of Sardinia. Through the scents of Acqua di Sardegna, Maijda, and Scalo Porto Cervo you are guided to experience the freshness of the sea and the power of the waves of this ancestral island more intimately. Recalling the luscious summers, the unmistakable intense scent of country flowers, of citrus fruits, of wood and leather these perfumes lead through the traditions of this enchanted land.

Our collaboration with Acqua di Sardegna originated in a peculiar way. In the summer of 2013, we designed and realised a photoshoot for our personal use. Located on a beach near Cagliari and with the presence of a model, we created this work and uploaded it on our website. A few months later, an agency from the northern part of Sardinia contacted us after spotting these images on the Internet. The purpose of the collaboration was a unique image for promoting Scalo Porto Cervo, a perfume by Acqua di Sardegna. This one and only image became the core of the campaign that we shot a month later in Porto Cervo.

The concept of the campaign was inspired by the 1950s movie “La Ciociara” starring Sophia Loren.

During the 8 hours photoshoot, which we shot on a yacht in Porto Cervo,

we worked with the Canon 5d MkIII with a 24-70mm lens accompanied by natural light and a reflector. Alice Alfonsi (makeup artist), Tania Nitsak (hairstylist), the models Vanessa Barrui and Emilio Puggioni and a creative agency have been part of our team.

The finalised images were delivered to our client within two weeks after the completion of the shoot.
